313's Heroes and Goats

From the Appalachian State vs. Michigan game

The Hero: Armanti Edwards. The Appalachian State quaterback threw for 227 yards and three touchdowns, often buying himself time with his feet.
The Goat: Michigan's defense. Ron English's unit was a question mark heading into the season because of its youth. But allowing 28 points in the first half? To a Division I-AA school? Even though the defense tightened up the second half, the tone had been set.

From the UAB vs. Michigan State game

The Hero: Jehuu Caulcrick. The senior running back signified the beginning of an era of physical football with his punishing four-touchdown, 93-yard performance. It normally took more than one guy to bring him down, and he was a human battering ram near the goal line. Something tells me he won't mysteriously disappear from the attack this season.
The Goat: UAB. The Blazers put on a dismal display, getting completely outclassed by a team that many feel will finish near the bottom of the Big Ten. It was more entertaining watching the crowd react to the PA guy announcing the Michigan-Appalachian State updates than the game. Just who was playing the I-AA opponent? Michigan or MSU?

My time's up, you've been great. For the road: Ciara "Can't Leave 'Em Alone"
