From the first round of The Masters

The Hero: Brian Bateman. The unsung defending Buick Open champion, who birdied his final hole at Warwick Hills last year, birdied his final hole Thursday and shot three-under-par 69 to climb almost to the top of the leader board.
The Goat: Fred Couples. Oops. Boom Boom blew up with five bogeys on the front nine and shot 76, jeopardizing his chances today of making a record 24th straight cut at the Masters.
