The Heroes: Kiwi Scott Dixon (Target Chip Ganassi Racing). He drove a perfect race to win Sunday's Indianapolis 500 and make up for the bitter disappointment of losing the IndyCar Series championship in 2007.
Vitor Meira (Panther Racing). He drove a stirring race to finish second in the 500 but is still searching for his first IndyCar Series victory.
The Goats: Graham Rahal (Newman/Haas/Lanigan Racing). The rookie ran high and smacked the wall in Turn 4, bringing his race to an end on Lap 37.
Ryan Briscoe (Team Penske). He collected Danica Patrick (Andretti Green Racing) in pit lane and ended the race for both drivers.
