The Hero: Rocco Mediate. He shares the first-round lead with Robert Allenby and Graeme McDowell and proves his U.S. Open runner-up finish was no fluke.
The Goat: Ernie Els. Three straight sixes toward the end of his round led to an 80 and pretty much ended any hope of victory.
