TiVo Guide Week of February 16, 2009 *spoiler alert*

“The Bachelor” Jason and the final three bachelorettes visit New Zealand for sightseeing (in a helicopter and a boat) and bungee jumping on overnight dates, in which the Fantasy Suite is an option and the L-word (as in "love") is dropped. Then comes the rose ceremony, where the fantasy ends for one of the three. Monday at 8 on ABC.

“Heroes” Nathan becomes the focus of an investigation by Homeland Security. Meanwhile, Nathan's agents hunt for Sylar and Luke, who take a road trip to find Sylar's father; Claire tries to protect a man her dad is targeting; and Hiro and Ando go to India, led by Matt's prophetic images. Monday at 9 on NBC.

“Medium” A visit to a crime scene has a strange impact on Allison, whose bizarre behavior may be an essential component to unlocking a 17-year-old crime. Elsewhere, Joe's dinner invitation to his new colleague (Kevin Corrigan) leads to unforeseen twists. Patricia Arquette directed the episode. Monday at 10 on NBC.

“American Idol” The first 12 of the Top 36 semifinalists perform. Viewer voting begins. Tuesday at 8 on Fox.

“Frontline” An examination of the economic crisis of 2008 and 2009, detailing the fire sale of Bear Stearns to JPMorgan, the collapse of Lehman Brothers, the bailout of insurance giant AIG and the $700 billion Wall Street bailout known as TARP (Troubled Assets Relief Program). Tuesday at 9 on PBS.

“Real Housewives of New York City” Season 2 lifts off with tension surrounding Jill, whose published interview incites a feud with Alex and Simon. Meanwhile, social butterfly Bethenny spends the summer in the Hamptons with Jill. And new housewife Kelly Killoren Bensimon is introduced. Tuesday at 11 on Bravo.

“New Adventures of Old Christine” Christine accuses Richard of being a bad parent after Ritchie gets hurt at a skateboarding party, but her overprotective nature turns out to be just as bad, if not worse. Wednesday at 8 on CBS.

“Lost” The Oceanic 6 learn how they'll be able to return to the island, but not all of them want to make the journey. Eloise Hawking: Fionnula Flanagan. Wednesday at 9 on ABC.

“Life” A man who ran a construction scam is found dead in a roofless home and with money shoved in his mouth, so the detectives interview his hoodwinked customers to find suspects. Elsewhere, Crews confronts Rayborn and learns more about the conspiracy against him. Wednesday at 9 on NBC.

“Ugly Betty” Fashion Week in New York City makes Betty's life more hectic than usual as she helps an eccentric designer put on a show and partners up for a YETI assignment with someone who works at a sports magazine. Meanwhile, Wilhelmina worries about her new relationship's effect on her career, and Daniel hopes to see another side of Molly. Thursday at 8 on ABC.

“ER” Dr. Carter (Noah Wyle) surprises the staff with an unexpected visit. Meanwhile, Gates treats a groom with respiratory trouble that may be related to mushroom hunting; and Banfield tries to persuade her husband to have another child. Thursday at 10 on NBC.

“Being Erica” Erica relives a high-school moment with the help of a mysterious therapist in the series opener. Thursday at 10 on SoapNet.

“Monk” In the Season 7 finale, Monk looks into the disappearance of a city official who was fighting to preserve the soon-to-be-demolished parking garage where Monk's wife was killed. Friday at 9 on USA.

“Dollhouse” Echo becomes the target of an expert outdoorsman's hunt after she's imprinted with a persona to match his. Agent Ballard's investigation, meanwhile, is boosted by information concerning Echo's true identity. Richard O'Connell: Matt Keeslar. Friday at 9:01 on Fox.

“Independent Spirit Awards” Actor-comedian Steve Coogan hosts the 2009 Film Independent Spirit Awards ceremony honoring the best in indie filmmaking. Best Feature contenders include: "Ballast"; "Frozen River"; "Rachel Getting Married"; "Wendy and Lucy"; and "The Wrestler." Saturday at 5 on IFC.

“Taking Chance” Deskbound Lt. Col. Michael Strobl (Kevin Bacon) escorts the body of Chance Phelps, a young marine who was killed in Iraq in 2004, back to his family and final resting place in Wyoming. Based on an article by Strobl (USMC Ret.), who cowrote the script. Directorial debut for Ross Katz. With Tom Wopat and Ann Dowd. Saturday at 8 on HBO.

“81st Academy Awards” Hugh Jackman makes his inaugural hosting appearance at the 81st annual ceremonies, telecast from the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood. "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button" leads the pack with 13 nominations, including Best Picture. The other nominees for Best Picture are "Frost/Nixon," "Milk," "The Reader" and "Slumdog Millionaire." Sunday at 8:30 on ABC.

“Big Love” The Henrickson clan's ties are tested when they make a pilgrimage to New York to visit a Joseph Smith shrine, where Bill wishes to bury a family time capsule. Sunday at 9 on HBO.

“Flight of the Conchords” Bret and Jemaine become rivals for the attentions of the same woman (Kristen Wiig), who happens to have an epileptic dog that has gone missing. Sunday at 10 on HBO.
