From the first round of the U.S. Open

The Hero: Justin Hicks. The Wyandotte native who grew up in Riverview and graduated from Grosse Ile High and Michigan put the Great Lakes State on the map by shooting a 68 and climbing to the top of the leaderboard.
The Goat: Michael Campbell. The 2005 U.S. Open winner, who has made two cuts in 13 events this year, opened with a seven-over 78.
