313's Heroes and Goats

From the Miami (OH) vs. Michigan game

The Hero: Sam McGuffie, Michigan tailback. He rushed for 74 yards, collected 32 yards receiving and was key to Michigan's game-clinching fourth-quarter drive. Though Brandon Minor scored the touchdown, McGuffie put the Wolverines close enough.
The Goat: The Michigan quaterbacks. Between the two of them, Steven Threet and Nick Sheridan will have to play more consistently for U-M to beat higher-level teams. Threet's overthrows and Sheridan's hot-and-cold tendencies have left coach Rich Rodriguez unsure of who is more reliable.

From the Eastern Michigan vs. Michigan State game

The Hero: MSU running back Javon Ringer had a career-high 34 carries for 135 yards and a career-high five touchdowns. He nearly broke MSU's single-game TD record of six.
The Goat: Eastern Michigan's special teams units. The Eagles gave up 113 yards on punt returns to Otis Wiley and blew a fake field-goal attempt, taking away any momentum the team hoped to gain when the score was 21-7.
