313's Heroes and Goats

From the Utah vs. Michigan game

The Hero: Brian Johnson. The senior showed little rust from last year's injuries and sliced up Michigan's secondary for 253 yards throughout the first half. That, along with his touchdown pass 13 seconds before the half, was an example of what U-M might be searching for in a QB. Though he struggled after the half, he built enough of a cushion.
The Goat: Nick Sheridan. The U-M quaterback's afternoon went about as poorly as he could imagine. Removed after one series in the second half, costly interceptions, poor exchanges and wild passes marked his apparently short tenure.

From the Michigan State vs. California game

The Hero: Jahvid Best. Cal running back Jahvid Best ran for 111 yards and a touchdown, and also gained 63 yards on five receptions. He was the man that kept the chains moving for the Bears.
The Goat: MSU's offensive line. This group is integrating some newcomers on the left side -- and some are underclassmen -- but if they can't make room for Javon Ringer to run, the Spartans will be in trouble.
