313's Heroes and Goats

From the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series at Michigan

The Heroes: Carl Edwards. Two races and two backflips from Edwards this weekend. He used his fifth Cup victory this season to pull away from Jimmie Johnson and Dale Earnhardt Jr. for second place in the points standings.
David Ragan. With 50 laps to go, he had the fastest car on the track. He finished third, his best Cup finish of the season. The 22-year-old used the top-five finish to pull within 26 points of the final Chase spot with only three races left before the 12-driver playoff.
The Goats: Jeff Gordon's pit crew. Despite having what Gordon thought was a strong car, poor pit stops early put him at the back of the field. While racing to get back up front, he collided with teammate Johnson, ultimately blowing both drivers' tires and their shots at victory.
Rick Hendrick. After being the winning owner of the June race, Hendrick's four cars were shut out of the top 15 on Sunday. Jimmie Johnson finished 17th, Casey Mears 18th, Dale Earnhardt Jr. 23rd and Jeff Gordon 42nd.
