Description of the crime: On June 2, 2010, at Comerica Park in Detroit, Michigan, Jim Joyce was witnessed robbing Detroit Tigers pitcher Armando Galarraga of a perfect game on what should have been the final out. Witnesses report Joyce called Cleveland Indians shortstop Jason Donald safe when he was out by a foot and a half.

SHOULD BE CONSIDERED ARMED AND DANGEROUS

If you see him, contact the Detroit FBI Branch, local police, or your nearest American embassy.

OK, OK, so this is obviously not a real FBI poster, but dammit, Armando Galarraga had a perfect game and it was blown by a single, bone-headed mistake. I'll give Joyce credit for apologizing to Galarraga following the game, but you should have had it right ON THE FIELD! As for Galarraga, class act. Didn't complain, calmly recorded the 28th out (as it will forever be called), accepted Joyce's apology, hugged him in the umpires' room, and said, without sarcasm or irony in his voice. He's been a good sport the whole way. As far as I see it, he had a perfect game.

Now on to the powers that be. I'm pleading with Bud Selig to do the right thing, reverse the call, and give Galarraga a perfect game in the record books. You're a man of the people, Mr. Selig. Listen up. The fans (74% at last check in an ESPN.com poll), the players, the writers, the bloggers, all feel Galarraga got shafted. You have the power to reverse this call and right a great wrong in the history of the game. If there was ever a time to set precedent, now is the time, Mr. Selig. Give Armando Galarraga his perfect game.
