Saved in Detroit!

Phew! I thought the Red Wings were toast again! Of course, you'd probably be thinking that too when the Sharks go up 1-0 36 seconds in and 2-0 4:17 in. And you'd be thinking that when the Red Wings got their first shot on goal 13 minutes after the opening faceoff. Remember this, though, the Red Wings are one of the hardest working teams in the NHL, and it's not easy to get rid of them so easily. So when Henrik Zetterberg scored with a snap shot at 17:30 of the first period, I knew they weren't done. It did get a little worrisome since the Wings had trouble cracking the San Jose goal. Fortunatly, the fears were lifted 1:23 into the third with Daniel Cleary's slap shot to tie it up. Now, I wasn't exactly hoping to see overtime today. Just barely, my wish was granted. With 1:24 to go, Pavel Datsyuk's back hand finds the back of the net. Red Wings 3, Sharks 2. The series is now tied 1-1. The Wings might not have a commanding two-game lead, but it's certainly better to go from Hockeytown to the Shark Tank tied then down 2-0. Sorry about this, but I do have to ask. Do you know the way to San Jose?

My time's up, you've been great. For the road: Nelly Furtado "Say It Right"
