Why I am awaiting the return of "Rizzoli & Isles"

Last summer, "Rizzoli & Isles" was TNT's breakout show, becoming the highest-rated new show on cable ever. The fact that it held most of the audience from "The Closer," which set its own ratings records, makes it all the more impressive. So as I anxiously wait for next season, let me tell you why you should be prepared for next season of "Rizzoli & Isles."

1. The wait! Last season ended on September 14. We are expected to get Season 2 until July. JULY! Almost ten months! That's a long ways to wait, especially when you consider Reason No. 2.

2. Last season's cliffhanger. I don't want to spoil it completely, but look up the first season on YouTube to see what I mean. (Channel name: aniebunbury) All I'll say is that one character's life is in deep trouble after the season finale. And we have to wait ten months for it to be resolved!

3. They might has well have glass doors for their closet. Det. Jane Rizzoli (Angie Harmon) and Dr. Maura Isles (Sasha Alexander) are the only women in their precinct for the Boston Police Department. They are as unequal as best friends can be. Jane is athletic and wants to be treated equally to the men. Maura is far more feminine and seems to have Google for a brain. Being that they are so close to each as different as possible makes them popular for shipping. Of course, it doesn't help one was Abbie Carmichael on "Law & Order" and the other was Kate Todd on "NCIS." Really, the things these two do together scream lesbians. Go to the "Rizzoli & Isles" TV Tropes page and look on the Les Yay section. Pairing them up in canon might bresk away from the plot of the books the series is based on and lose a great deal of viewers, but Jane and Maura have a level of unresolved sexual tension rivaled only by Brennan and Booth on "Bones."

More to come later.
