TiVo Guide Week of July 28, 2008 *spoiler alert*

"The Closer" Brenda scrutinizes the suicide of a high-school girl who had earlier reported that she was raped by the son of a Los Angeles lawman (Daniel Baldwin). Monday at 9 on TNT.

"Paranormal State" In the second-season opener, the team investigates supposed activity at a home, including the mysterious destruction of religious objects; televisions, lights and fans going off and on; and the unexplained appearance of dead animals near the home. Monday at 10 on A&E.

"Date My Ex: Jo & Slade" An aflutter Jo anticipates meeting three new suitors. She then shoots off guns with one date, flirts with another while golfing, and tries to get in tune with yet another over music. Complicating matters: a big fat fib, and Slade---who continually agitates Jo's wooers. Monday at 10 on Bravo.

"Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations" A culinary tour of Japan includes Osaka, where Bourdain samples tuna belly and roe at a sushi bar and takes in a Hanshin Tigers baseball game. Tuesday at 5 on Travel.

"The Secret Life of the American Teenager" Ben and Amy are at odds about what to do: He's thinking marriage, while she's thinking adoption. Elsewhere, Ashley and Amy plead with their dad not to leave home, Ricky uses charm to impress Grace's family, and Adrian and Jack grow closer. Tuesday at 8 on ABC Family.

"The Cleaner" A husband asks William to help his wife who is addicted to prescription drugs, and William discovers that the woman is part of a suburban drug ring. Tuesday at 10 on A&E.

"Project Runway" The sights, sounds and styles of New York City serve as the designers' inspiration. Sandra Bernhard is the guest judge. Wednesday at 9 on Bravo.

"MythBusters" More shark myths are investigated, including whether chili powder repels sharks. Wednesday at 9 on Discovery.

"Shear Genius" Kate Jackson, host Jaclyn Smith's costar in the series "Charlie's Angels," appears as a guest judge when the hairstylists must reinvent notable looks from that '70s show. Before that, however, the contestants must work with hair color. Wednesday at 10 on Bravo.

"Bill Engvall Show" Susan has a strange feeling that Bill will soon have an affair with a woman named Penelope, and her premonition may have merit when Bill encounters a waitress with the same name. Meanwhile, Trent revs up to get his driver's license, with help from Lauren; and Susan tries to persuade Bill to get a physical. Thursday at 9 on TBS.

"Reality Bites Back" The comics compete to see who can gain the most weight. Thursday at 10:30 on Comedy Central.

"MVP: He Shoots, She Scores" The Mustangs have an away game, and Connie learns the "code of the road" when one of the wives discovers her husband has been having an affair. Meanwhile, Mandy tries to ruin Damon's memories of his family; Tabbi gets good news from Chase and bad news from Molly; Evelyn uncovers a secret about Adam; and Molly finds answers about the mysterious key her father left her. Thursday at 11 on SoapNet.

"Good Morning America" Cast members from Broadway's "Rent" perform. Friday at 7 on ABC.

"Fairly OddParents" Timmy persuades all the magical creatures to compete in an Olympic-style competition called the Fairy World Games. Problems arise when the anti-fairies cheat and knock out the fairy team's best player. Scott Hamilton and Ben Stein lend their voices. Friday at 8 on Nickelodeon.

"Dog Whisperer" Orange County viewers audition their problem pooches in hopes of getting a session with Cesar Millan. Friday at 9 on National Geographic.

"Robin Hood" The sheriff is throwing residents out of Locksley to make room for an army of mercenaries, but Robin's already occupied with an important mission for the king, so Marian springs into action as the Night Watchman. Saturday at 9 on BBC America.

"Fab Five: The Texas Cheerleader Scandal" A plucky young teacher challenges the school's de facto hierarchy of five spoiled, wealthy cheerleaders who don't play by any rules but their own. Based on a true story. Tatum O'Neal, Jenna Dewan and Ashley Benson star. Saturday at 9 on Lifetime.

"High School Musical: Get in the Picture" The 12 finalists visit the set of "High School Musical 3: Senior Year" and audition for director Kenny Ortega. They also get to meet cast members Lucas Grabeel, Olesya Rulin and Kaycee Stroh. Sunday at 8 on ABC.

"Generation Kill" Grumbling in the ranks about the abandoned supply truck occupies time to kill at the captured airfield, but Bravo is soon on the move again, heading north, clearing villages and setting up a roadblock outside Al Hayy. Meanwhile, Alpha is ordered to find the body of a marine in Al Shatra, but their mission is delayed by a CIA operation. Sunday at 9 on HBO.

"Design Star" The cast reunites as the winner is crowned in the third-season finale. Sunday at 9 on Home & Garden.
