Heading to Calgary in winning fashion

Once again, the Red Wings showed excellent dominance over the Calgary Flames. Today, it was Red Wings 3, Flames 1. I know the score doesn't say it, but the Wings dominated from start to end. The first two Wings goals came in the first five minutes, and the Flames played close to 10 minutes, or half, of the first period trying to kill the power play. Dominik Hasek wasn't exactly the big star because he faced so few shots, but he did allow only one to squeak into the net. I'm telling you, the Red Wings could wrap this up as early as Thursday night in Calgary, they've been playing so well. The Flames were snuffed out early, barely getting any ice time in the Red Wings' end. That's been the story of this series thus far. The Red Wings have shot the Flames, 94-37, over the two games and outscored them, 7-2. I don't know about anybody else who's watching the NHL playoffs, but the Flames look like they want first dibs on the country club so far. If the Red Wings continue smothering the Flames like they have been, then these next two games in Calgary could send the Wings off to the second round. And bravo, Pavel Datsyuk. You hadn't scored a playoff goal in 26 playoff games heading into this post season, and now you got two in this year's playoffs. Guess a seven-year, $46.9 million contract extension will inspire you, won't it?

My time's up, you've been great. For the road: Tenacious D "The Pick Of Destiny"
